Peak Wildlife Park

A fantastic local zoo and wildlife park with a range of animals including Polar Bears! Less than 2 miles away from Onecote. Has a cafe, shop and facilities.

Alton Towers

Generally regarded as the UK’s no. 1 Theme Park, with a range of famous rides and attractions and just 15 minutes drive from Onecote. 

Tittesworth Water

Local attractive body of water with a visitor centre, cafe and children’s play area. Plenty of parking, some pleasant walking routes and events throughout the year.

Manifold Way

The Manifold Way is a gentle pedestrianised path, which is surfaced and fairly level throughout its length, making it ideal for wheelchair users, those with buggies or prams and people with limited mobility. Watch out for the rivers of the Manifold and Hamps. Climb the steps to Thor’s Cave (250 ft above the track) for magnificent views across the valley. Car Parking, Cafe, Cycle Hire and Visitor Centre at Hulme End.

There are a number of attractive villages in and around the Peak District National Park including Grindon, Warslow, Hartington, Ilam. Slightly further afield is the historical market town of Bakewell, with Buxton, Ashbourne and Leek nearby. The famous pottery companies of Wedgwood, Middleport Pottery (venue for the Great Pottery Throwdown TV programme) and Trentham Gardens in the vicinity of Stoke-on-Trent.
